Javanese Shadow Theater / Wayang Golek

The 'wayang golek' were made from hard wood and painted with older types of colors, sometimes using natural pigments and fish glue medium. Occasionaly some wooden puppets had legs and were mounted as riders on various real or mythological animals such as dragons, tigers, elephants and horses. We present several rare mounted wayang goleks. Sizes of puppets: ca. 30-35cm high.
